Kimberly Stephan Tate, Owner

Kimberly Stephan Tate is a career expert who helps people land their dream jobs faster by giving them the tools to cut through the stress and confusion of job searching. She’s deeply passionate about helping historically excluded communities — including women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ professionals — unlock their full potential and thrive in workplaces where they feel valued.

A certified nutrition coach and fitness enthusiast, Kimberly embraces a sober lifestyle and is currently working toward certification as an aerial yoga instructor. She lives life to the fullest on Maui, where she enjoys the island’s natural beauty, foodie culture, and time with her beloved fur babies. She’s endlessly curious, loves getting to know people and their stories, and proudly admits she’s a Swiftie at heart.

Professionally, Kimberly served as Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent Strategy for Asurion for nearly a decade, where she built the company’s first Employee Resource Group (PRIDE) in 2016. Under her leadership, Asurion achieved multiple perfect scores on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index and was honored with the Nashville LGBT Chamber’s Corporate Diversity Award. In addition, they grew to eleven ERG’s globally with 7K members and proved participants were 50% less likely to leave the organization. She also helped transform hiring practices by establishing diverse slates, implementing name-blind resume reviews, and creating certified interviewer training programs.

Having been laid off twice after long tenures — once after 10 years and once after 15 years — Kimberly knows firsthand the challenges of career transition. This fuels her mission at Tate of Mind Consulting: to empower others to navigate change with confidence, resilience, and clarity.
